"The Wine Archive: Developed Through Time"

Despite being one of Ontario’s top-selling wineries, Henry of Pelham faced a perception challenge: many wine drinkers associate quality with imported, Old World wines. The goal was to shift that perception by demonstrating an equal level of care, craft and history within the product itself, using the winery’s 200-year history as the proof point. “The Wine Archive: Developed Through Time” was a limited-edition series of 50 bottles, each featuring a different artifact from the brand’s past. Labels were created by developing film with Henry of Pelham’s own wines, giving each image the distinctive tones of Pinot Grigio, Rosé and Baco Noir. Each bottle was built with four paper layers across different substrates, alongside details like die-cut tabs, blind debossing, stitched and string bindings, thermography and etched glass. Every unit was hand-numbered and dipped in wax. Together, the set formed a chronological timeline of the winery’s history, told entirely through the packaging.
