In a first-to-market move from a Canadian bank-owned brokerage, TD launched a new investing feature called “Fractional Shares” that allows people to buy a portion of pricey blue-chip stocks, something that could be of particular interest to first-time investors. “Own It” by Ogilvy shows how easy it is to purchase fractional shares through the TD Direct Investing app. The humorous spot shows a casually dressed young woman buying her first fractional shares, joyously announcing she’s a partial owner at locations of the companies she’s invested in, interrupting a movie shoot and appearing on the field during a baseball game.
