2025 Winner

With fewer than 1% of Canadian senior executives identifying as Black, the Afrodescendant Leadership Alliance (ALA) set out to address the lack of representation or mentorship for emerging Black leaders. Their solution was “AI Mentors,” an immersive experience unveiled at the ALA 2024 Gala. Using a custom-built AI system trained on more than 200 speeches, interviews and writings from iconic Black leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., Maya Angelou and Nelson Mandela, the platform offered participants personalized, historically grounded guidance. Attendees engaged in over 1,400 unique conversations and 100% reported feeling more inspired and
connected to Black leadership.
