"The Planet's Scariest Bouquet"
Zulu Alpha Kilo
Antarctica was once considered resistant to climate change, but a recent study shows disturbing evidence of rapid growth in two native species of flowering plants. Environmental Leadership Canada (ELC), with Zulu Alpha Kilo, launched “The Planet’s Scariest Bouquet” ahead of COP28 – the annual UN climate change conference – to draw attention to the wide-reaching impact of the climate crisis.

The digital film features an unsettling arrangement of the now-thriving Antarctic flowers. The film explains that while flowers are generally given to a person to express love, convey sympathy or express gratitude, this bouquet represents inaction and only exists because of climate change. The film also urges viewers to send digital bouquets to government representatives and to access resources on a dedicated site. A physical replica of the bouquet was displayed at the climate conference to remind decision-makers of the urgent need for action.
