Community Music Schools of Toronto, the Kingsway Music Library, and LG2 collaborated to create a new design system for “Parkscapes Vol. 3,” an album of music samples played by students and used as a fundraising tool that benefit youth who face financial barriers to music education.
The LG2 team orchestrated a shape-based design system made up of visual samples that were inspired by musical instruments – a visual identity created to be re-imagined, remixed and re-contextualized, just like the music on the albums themselves. For example, the work showed the curves of a violin, strings of a guitar, keys of a piano or a circle reminiscent of an LP. It all combined to create a singular and impactful design that gave Parkscapes an identity as unique as its purpose, and helped the school continue to transform kid’s lives through music.
