"Table Drop"
Anomaly
Stella Artois and Anomaly launched “Table Drop” as part of “The Life Artois” campaign, aiming to revive the tradition of communal dining in a world where many eat alone. The film depicts a falling table as it descends through an apartment building, emphasizing the joy of shared meals. While real actors sat at an actual table, the entire building was digitally constructed, layer by layer, to create a seamless visual experience.

The key to making it look convincing came down to the balance between what was captured in camera and what was computer generated. Every scene had to be divided into layers, breaking down and identifying each moving part, before blending all the elements to achieve a harmonious end product. Then, lighting effects and shadows had to be applied to each environment, foreground and background element, as well as debris to make it as realistic as possible. So cunningly accomplished, none of that editing magic is what viewers focus on, with Stella’s message of community
coming through loud and clear.
