During the giving season, World Vision aims to raise funds to feed children in fragile areas. Recognizing donor fatigue and the need for a positive approach, the organization shifted from the guilt-inducing “flies-in-their-eyes” approach to making people feel good about feeding kids.
“Burp” is the hero spot from the “Feed a child. Feed a childhood” campaign by Broken Heart Love Affair. The tone of the 30-second commercial departs from typical advertising in this space, taking a lighthearted approach to show the transformative impact of food aid on children’s lives. The ad shows several kids who have benefitted from World Vision’s services, capturing their belches and the giggles that follow. For World Vision, a burp symbolizes the success of a food delivery and the essence of a carefree childhood. Airing in OLV across English and French Canada, it was supported by 15- and 6-second programmatic and display ads, as well as social.
