Founded in Hong Kong, the Sing Tao Daily News was celebrating 38 years in Canada. The newspaper’s agency Captus wanted to create an ad for the anniversary that would be creative and visually impactful. The newspaper’s success was due in large part to the collaboration and teamwork it engages internally and externally. So Captus Advertising created “Rowers,” a compelling overhead shot featuring two people rowing together, with their oars in the water creating the number “38.” The copy, in Chinese, read: “Congratulations Sing Tao on your 38th anniversary. It’s been an honour to row alongside you shoulder to shoulder into the future.”
