"The World Needs More Nerds"
Rethink
It started with a single childhood photo of Dr. Bonnie Henry, British Columbia’s provincial health officer. Soon, over thirty notable nerds – including astronaut Chris Hadfield and anthropologist Jane Goodall – would donate their childhood photos to “The World Needs More Nerds,” a campaign by Rethink to help save Science World from the onslaught of the pandemic.

Creative that ran across TV, radio, digital OOH and organic social helped young people embrace their inner nerd and inspired grown-ups to donate. Nerd-themed merchandise allowed the public to join the cause, resulting in $13,000 in sales. The effort tripled Science World’s fundraising target by raising over $456,000.
