The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) represents nearly 8,000 members and has a storied history, having been in business for over 100 years. The OAA approached Leo Burnett with the challenge to develop a new brand identity that would modernize its image, while also remaining timeless.

The agency came up with a logo that highlighted the OAA’s two priorities: design and community. Design was represented by a square canvas, whereas community was signalled by a circle. Combined, the two shapes made the letters OAA. The identity was then used across digital, print and architecture, as well as the official seal on blueprints.
