CASE SUMMARY

Blak is a line of dark chocolate from pâtissier Thomas Haas. The Vancouver-based chocolatier, who is popular for his handmade chocolates, pastries, and desserts, worked with Pendo to celebrate dark chocolate in its purest form. The team created a brand identity that was applied to packaging, with the goal to build on the bold, rich taste of the product and create an indulgent experience. The luxury aesthetic used a simple colour palette of just black and gold, which was applied using a soft-touch packaging substrate. The black boxes, which feature gold foil on all four sides, are a nod to the product’s black and gold artistry. The collection was expanded to include additional dark chocolate products. All of which is a testament to the success of Blak, with the product selling out at launch.
