CASE SUMMARY

“There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” That’s the starting premise of Gimmick Studio’s animated spot promoting g5, a female-led collective within agency Droga5 that specializes in campaigns for female-led start-ups. The film brings that theme to life through simple dialogue and a series of awkward yet endearing characters as they sit waiting in a salon. Beyond the central character sharing details of the industry’s inequalities – “only 2% of venture capital funding goes to female-led startups,” she says, to her uninterested companion – small details illustrate what makes this place a special kind of hell.
