Icebergs are a huge tourist draw in Atlantic Canada, but they move, melt and generally don’t follow a schedule. Using real-time satellite tracking data, the mobile-first IcebergFinder. com offered up-to-the-minute locations for the many bergs that move around Newfoundland and Labrador. The tool hosted pictures and planned viewing routes via Google Earth. Summer 2018 saw tourists track 500 icebergs and drive more than 500,000 map interactions, garnering 5,000 new referrals to tourism operators.
