Revisiting a famous idea can be risky. Luckily, Rethink knew what made the original IKEA “Lamp” spot – a classic of non-verbal storytelling – work so well. Handheld POV shots, a few wides showing the lamp’s recognizably sad bend, and a new gentle glow all make the viewer think that, yes, the lamp does have feelings. Perhaps think twice before throwing out your old furniture. All that to promote a new message about sustainability and the circular economy IKEA is embracing for its products.
