Following a delay in the third season of Mr. Robot, USA Networks decided to reward patient fans. The network picked up where the series left off by launching a real-life cryptocurrency. At the San Diego Comic Con, the network took over the city’s Gaslight district and turned it into a neighbourhood right out of Mr. Robot’s dystopian world. It handed out cards loaded with E-Coins so attendees could shop at local businesses that accepted the new currency as a form of payment. Those looking for a deeper experience could explore Easter eggs hidden inside a restaurant, taking them even further into the Mr. Robot world.
