Instagram-perfect and beautifully polished moms in ads are causing real moms to feel that they aren’t “perfect” enough. For Dove’s Baby line launch, the brand hired photojournalists to immerse themselves with real-life new mothers and capture their everyday nitty-gritty moments. The brand posted the photogs’ uncropped and unaltered images to a microsite where other parents could browse the images and feel just a bit better about themselves. Their lives may not be perfect and polished, but being a mom is still beautiful.
