The “Gain by Gain” commercial for the P&G detergent brand taps Ty Burrell’s iconic Modern Family character, Phil Dunphy, in all his dumb and dorky glory. Starring in his own fragrance commercial, Burrell goes through the stereotypical perfume ad motions with a running commentary about how silly the process is. The fragrance for his commercial? That would be “the seriously good scent” of Gain, by Gain.
