Everyone loves a good #throwbackthursday. Tapping into nostalgia, boom 97.3 launched a new website that helped listeners remember yesteryear. “Mixtape of You” allowed visitors to create their own digital compilations. First, they were asked to pick a cassette tape and a colour scheme, and then answer a few basic questions. The site (which was designed to evoke the experience of creating an actual mixtape) then generated a completely personalized mix of songs, which could be customized further and shared on social media. In fact, 78% of all mixtapes were shared online, and some of those tapes even made it to air.
