To get business elites to join its CEO council, the Wall Street Journal placed bespoke “Help Wanted” ads next to the offices of major Canadian heads of business. The ads spoke directly to the leaders, listing their personal accomplishments and education (based on their actual resumes), such as a CEO who leads one of Canada’s largest packaged food companies and holds a veterinary medicine degree from Belgium.
