Targeting 35- to 43-year-old Chinese Canadians during Lunar New Year, BMW launched a print ad that was written in Chinese calligraphy. The ad tagline read “Big Spread, Great Picture,” tapping into the idea of spreading wings and taking flight for the Year of the Rooster. The ad maintained this theme by featuring the concept car, Vision Next 100, with its doors spread open like wings.
